Canada Study Visa process for Nepalese Student

Canada is a dream study destination for many Nepalese students. We at TIAC helps you to make your Canadian study permit process hassle-free. TIAC is one of the best education consultancies in Nepal providing Canadian Study Permit consultation for students who aspire to study in Canada.   However, if you wish to take the challenge and want to self-apply for a study permit, our expert counselor has jotted down the key process that every student must follow.

  1. Apply for Offer Letter/ Letter of Acceptance

Before you apply for a study permit, you need to have a standardized letter of acceptance from a recognized higher education provider also known as Designated Learning Institution (DLI). You must obtain this before you apply for a study permit. You can get this online by applying along with your academic records and test scores.

2. Apply for No Objection Certificates -NOC

Once you have a letter of acceptance or offer letter from a DLI (College/University), you need to apply for NOC. NOC can be applied online at http://noc.moest.gov.np/noc/apply-otp. Scan copy of documents works, notarized copies are not necessary. If your educational certificates are from a foreign board, obtain equivalent certificates.

Grade 10 and grade 12 equivalent certificates are provided by Curriculum Development Center, Sanothimi Bhaktapur (https://moecdc.gov.np/), Equivalence of University level qualification is provided by Curriculum Development Center, Tribhuvan University, Kritipur, TU gate. https://tucdc.edu.np

3. Pay your tuition fees.

Once you obtain your NOC from the Ministry of education, you can pay your tuition fee. You also need to present a personal PAN card in addition to your NOC. If you or your parents have not got a personal PAN, apply for it. Pan card can be applied online by registering at  https://taxpayerportal.ird.gov.np/taxpayer/app.html. We recommended you pay a full-year tuition fee, however, paying the amount mentioned in the LOA is completely fine. Once you pay your fee, you will be provided with a confirmation of receipt by the university or college. Don’t forget to attach this receipt to the proof of fund section.

4. Immigration Medical Examination (IME)

All Nepalese students must undergo a compulsory Immigration Medical Examination from impaneled doctors. You can get your medical examination from Travel and Mountain Medicine Centre, Kaldhara, Kathmandu  http://tmmcnepal.com/  or IOM Baluwatar and IOM Damak. https://nepal.iom.int/. An online appointment is necessary before visiting.

Though IME can be submitted later, IRCC strongly recommends candidates submit it upfront

5. GC KEY Account

The next stage is to create a GK key account and answer few queries to get the right application forms for your Canadian student visa. You can create your GC key account by signing up at the CIC website. If you are found eligible, you will then be directed to a page where you can upload your applications forms and personal documents and send your documents to CIC. You’ll need a printer and a scanner to do this.

8. Biometric Submission

You will receive a biometric instruction letter (BIL) after 24hrs of visa fee payment. You can create an online appointment for Biometric submission in advance by submitting an appointment to a Canadian Visa Application Center, VFS Kathmandu Located in Chhaya Complex, Thamel Kathmandu.  https://visa.vfsglobal.com/. You need to take your passport, appointment letter, and BIL for biometric submission.

If you received a passport request, your application is approved and you need to submit your passport to VFS: VFS will send your passport to Canadian High Commission New Delhi for visa stamping. You will get back your passport within 2 weeks.

10. Travel Arrangements

Once you get your passport stamped, you can make travel arrangements. Make sure you book a place to stay in advance. You can contact your college or university for possible accommodation options.
